Dear friends,

My son Jacob and I just returned from a fast-paced visit to U.S. where we stayed primarily with Baltimore Homa Community in Baltimore, Maryland. Our visit was a lively combination of meetings with elders and young people in the community, visits with family and individual healings. It was a very full trip and we are both so grateful for every person we had the opportunity to work with, drum, dance and sing with! Always a joy.

While in America, it became even more apparent to us how easy it is to become complacent in a society of relative ease. Even if one’s individual life is not easy, it is a land where everything works! I saw the Homa community there working hard to support each other in their times of need, which was so heartening and inspiring.

Dear family,
What a summer! In July, it was reported Poland had something like 7 days with sun shining. It rained non-stop for weeks on end. Finally, we’ve been treated to blissful sunny days, and our gardens are flourishing. Despite the rains, we’ve had a bountiful harvest of cherry tomatoes, our signature crop, as well as herbs and a myriad of vegetables that do not normally grow in this region. Our first apples of the season are being juiced as I write this. The Homa honey bees are busy at work and we’ve already harvested delicious healing honey twice. Rory and Asia have been drying their herbs and preparing heavenly teas.

Poland Stone Circle Activations

Synchronicity in Motion

In what can only be described as ‘Synchronicity in Motion,’ eight Bhrugu Aranya Homa farm residents (Jarek and Parvati Bizberg, Jacob, Katy, Kabir and Leela Sawyer, Asia Maher, Barry Rathner ) and Anne Godfrey visiting from Tapovan Homa Centre in India, embarked on a five day activation journey through northern Poland on April 26, 2011.

An activation is a subtle process to awaken and release healing energies locked in the soil, stones, trees and water at ancient sacred sites. Our activations of all begin with fire. If it is at sunset, we perform Agnihotra; if not, we begin with Vyarhuti Homa followed by other specific Sanskrit Mantras. Each activation is individual, guided in the moment.

When I was a school boy, I remember the other boys and I were talking about what we would do if there was a nuclear war. Everyone else agreed that they would rather die than survive and try to live in the aftermath of such a war. I, on the other hand, felt strongly that I would want to survive and live. There has always been a strong sense of survival in me and the belief that a better world can be created and will be created. I was born two months premature and I guess that strong sense of survival, that determined will to live, was born in me then and carried me through that delicate time into today.
