Dear family,
As we move toward the cold months, we have found a new way of working together in our Ecovillage community. Instead of one or two of us working steadily at completing a major task, like preparing garden beds for winter or harvesting, we are planning work days when we all team up to work together. It’s a lot more fun. We apply this to community wide projects as well as individual family projects. We learn from observing local farmers. When their potatoes need harvesting, the whole family arrives to help. It’s tradition. We, in our comparatively new ‘family,’ are creating timeless traditions.

On that subject, we are also welcoming volunteers who wish to help, as winters tend to approach without a lot of warning. So there is a lot of work we could use extra hands for. Harvesting, pruning trees (if experienced), preparing garden beds, general farm upkeep, etc. It’s also a great opportunity to experience life in a Homa Organic Farm community. Contact me if this seems of interest. We had volunteers all summer, but still have a lot to do in the next couple weeks and months. Nearly this whole set of transmissions is about Community—from ‘revisiting the vision’ to manifesting the vision. From setting boundaries within community to problem-solving. The guidance which came via Orion applies to any community. I feel there is a rising trend toward community living, whether it is on the land or in an urban setting. The idea of pooling resources and redefining ourselves as Light Workers for a more global village is an exciting prospect.

Directly tied with the idea of the greater community outside our door is the aspect of Service. Service extends our arms to reach others. It gives us the possibility to restore the sense of community that existed in ancient tribes and villages of old, which has been lost in our highly industrialized, mechanized society. It brings us back to centre.

As Mahatma Gandhi said: “The best way to find oneself is to lose oneself in service to others.’’

Jarek and I will be going to U.S. end October for a three week visit. We will be working with Baltimore Homa Community, a wonderful multicultural and multi-talented urban community based on the principles of Homa Therapy. We’re excited to be reconnecting with our dear sisters and brothers once again.
