In the mid sixties in U.S., power fell into the hands of a few industrialists and the politicians backed by them. There followed an era of changes which reflected this investment of power. The peace movement of the sixties instigated a tightening of the power belt, if you will, and a lashing out at an increasingly sympathetic media which, in turn, was bought out by the powers of which we speak. Great disillusionment followed. Many sixties’ radicals, peace poets, rioters and the like retreated from the frontline, had children of their own and grew less and less interested in the world outside. There followed a period of complacency, general disinterest in political affairs and material growth. Americans became sedated by luxury and material gain. Environment took a back seat to economics as everyone took care of their own backyard and no one took a look at an ailing planet whose resources were drained by the great strides in progress!

AND NOW WE SEE A PLANET CHOKING ON ITS OWN EXHAUST, EXHAUSTED IN ITS ATTEMPTS TO REGENERATE POWER, IN A WEAKENED STATE FROM INCREASED POLLUTION, ITS LUNGS FILLED WITH SMOKE, TAR AND THE ILL EFFECTS OF MODERN LIVING. And now we observe this great human race racing toward the momentous millennium, fearing the future they themselves have created. Ah, what a pity. Why must it take a catastrophe to awaken the human race into action? Well, so it is.
THE SIGNS ARE EVERYWHERE, IN EVERY BLADE OF GRASS, ON EVERY MOUNTAINTOP, IN EVERY SEA, ON THE WINGS OF EVERY BIRD, IN THE HEART OF EVERY MAN. YES, YES. THERE IS TIME TO HEAL, BUT THE TIME IS SO SHORT AND MAN IS STILL LOOKING FOR WAYS HE CAN CONTROL AND DIRECT, RATHER THAN COOPERATE WITH. NATURE IS WITHOUT EGO. THERE IS ONLY SO LONG THAT NATURE CAN ALLOW ITSELF TO BE MANIPULATED FOR POWER AND MATERIAL GAIN. AND THE TIME HAS COME TO ITS PEAK AND THE WINDS OF CHANGE SHALL BLOW AGAIN. YET, THIS TIME, IT WILL BE NATURE’S TURN, NOT MAN’S. AND MAN, IN THE END, WILL KNOW A GREATER POWER EXISTS THAN HUMAN WILL AND HE WILL BE HUMBLED BY IT.
AND THE GREATEST MIGHTY NATIONS SHALL FALL AND THE SIGNS SHALL INDEED BE SEEN IN THE HEAVENS. AND THE DAY SHALL BECOME NIGHT AND NIGHT, DAY. AND THE GREAT SEAS SHALL RISE AND CONSUME GREAT LAND. AND THE MOUNTAINS SHALL RISE AND BECOME KNOWN. AND THE GREATEST OF ALL SAINTS SHALL APPEAR BEFORE YE AND YE SHALL CHOOSE TO FOLLOW BY THE SIGN ON THY HANDS. AND THERE SHALL REIGN GREAT PEACE AND THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN SHALL BE UPON YOU AND YOU WILL KNOW GREAT PEACE.
